Life Around Forecaster 121

Residents of Forecaster 121 have A LOT to be excited about, here in Boston’s fastest growing neighborhood. Whether you call it the Bulfinch Triangle (as noted on the National Register of Historic Places) or Uptown Boston (as some have recently suggested), this area has seen a steady stream of new restaurants, stores, residences and business headquarters–with more to come. Here’s just a handful of what we can enjoy now, or look forward to coming soon. (Click each image for a larger view.)

Options for dining out…

Anyone who knows Boston knows that the North End’s restaurants are some of the best in the city, and within a five-minute walk of Forecaster 121. Meanwhile, here in our own neighborhood, the award-winning A&B Burgers opened on Beverly Street to much local acclaim, followed by Blake’s Kitchen + Bar, just around the corner from us on Friend Street. They both join another nearby neighbor, City Winery Boston, where the food and music is as good as the wine. The Bulfinch Triangle is also home to a number of other great eating and drinking establishments, including West End Johnnie’s, Tavern in the Square, and Ward 8, just to name a few.

…or eating at home

Forecaster’s modern, all-new kitchens invite culinary adventures of their own, and residents have several great sources for stocking the pantry. Just two blocks down Merrimac Street is the Boston Public Market, where not only can you find an enormous selection of fresh, locally sourced foods, but you can also take cooking classes in the community kitchen. Or there is Whole Foods Market in Charles River Plaza, over on the other side of Government Center. And by the end of 2019, a 60,000 sq. ft. Star Market will open as the city’s largest supermarket, just two blocks up Portland Street at the Hub on Causeway.

…and speaking of the Hub on the Causeway

Just about everyone in town is talking about this new development, which some are calling “a city within a city,” just two blocks down Portland Street from Forecaster 121. Rising above the TD Garden and North Station, on the site of the old Boston Garden, the Hub on Causeway will introduce a range of new features for work and play, as well as an expansion of the Garden. Portions of Phase 1 of the project, the parking garage, and the new TD Garden/North Station Entrance are now open, with the rest of Phase 1 to be complete by May.

The Hub will rock

One of the many exciting features of the Hub will be “Big Night Live,” a 1,500-seat entertainment venue for year-round concerts of all music genres that has potential to transform the Boston music scene. And in case you missed the earlier mention, City Winery also has a year-round performance schedule, just two blocks over on Beverly Street.

Bulfinch Crossing

This towering new mixed-use structure will offer even more nearby office and retail space, and its location affirms what we already know: Bulfinch Triangle is a great spot. But while its residential spaces may lack the boutique luxury charm of Forecaster 121, their availability will likely increase the cost of downtown real estate—which makes now a good time to get into the market!

In addition to all the new homes and businesses emerging in the area, worksites are too. Right here on Portland Street, many independent business operators have found excellent accommodations at WeWork. And in the last year, several prominent employers such as State Street, Verizon, and Rapid7 have announced that they will relocate their corporate or regional headquarters here in the Bulfinch Triangle.
